Moody's Colour

The Moody's colour system from the Masterbrand Guidelines, mapped onto the fixed WDS tokens (Moody's Blue Primary, cool-grey Secondary, Bright Blue interactive Accent; neutral Zinc surfaces carried), plus Additional Colours: approved non-token greys and the tertiary data-visualisation set. Tints are a prescribed set, pending Moody's values.

The Moody's Group colour system, from the Moody's Masterbrand Guidelines. It has two layers. WDS Colour Tokens are the fixed design-system tokens (Primary, Secondary, Accent, Tints, Surfaces, Text & Icons), each a resolved Moody's value; these are the canonical set carried in the downloadable Brand Pack. The Tints are three named Moody's tonal scales (Blue, Bright Blue, Grey). The Surface scales are derived from those families (light navy-tinted from Moody's Blue, dark neutral from Grey). Additional Colours holds the tertiary data-visualisation set: approved options for hand-crafted design and colour pickers, carried in the pack as a separate block. Event Phase and Booking Status are fixed system semantics and are not re-skinned.

Brand

Token

Three brand slots on the WDS chassis. Primary is Moody's Blue 400 (the signature navy, structural), Secondary is Rich Black 700 (furniture, non-interactive emphasis and body copy), Accent is Bright Blue 400 (the interactive colour: highlights, links, CTAs).

Primary 500

Primarybase_colours_primary#0a1264Moody's Blue 400 (Pantone 2747 C). The signature navy: structural brand colour, headers, brand moments, predominant with White. Carries its own tonal ramp (Tints). Mode-agnostic.

Secondary 500

Secondarybase_colours_secondary#000000Rich Black 700 (#000000). Furniture and non-interactive emphasis, and blocks of body copy per the Moody's guidelines. Mode-agnostic. Its tonal ramp anchors on Gray 500 (see Tints), since black cannot ramp.

Accent 500

Accentbase_colours_accent#005effBright Blue 400 (Pantone 285 C). The interactive colour: highlighting text, links, CTAs, active states. If it is clickable, it is Accent. On dark surfaces a lighter Bright Blue step is used for legibility.

Notes

From the Moody's Masterbrand Guidelines. Moody's Blue 400 + White are the predominant colours; Bright Blue 400 is the on-screen highlight / call-to-action, so it maps to the WDS interactive Accent.
Secondary is Rich Black 700 (#000000); its tonal range is the Moody's Grey Scale (see Tints), since pure black has no room to ramp.
The three tonal families are the named Tint scales (Moody's Blue / Bright Blue / Grey); the tertiary data-visualisation set is under Additional Colours.

Tints

Token

Three WDS tint scales, named Tint Scale 1–3 and each mapped to a Moody's colour reference. Steps use the standard 50–950 (Tailwind-inspired) convention, standardised across all Brand Packs. A tick marks Moody's approved colours; the in-between steps are derived by interpolation. The primary step of each scale is outlined.

How the scales work

Tint Scale 1 / 2 / 3 are the WDS scale names, standard across every Brand Pack; each maps to a Moody's colour reference (Blue / Bright Blue / Grey).
Steps follow the 50–950 Tailwind-inspired convention. Ticked steps are Moody's approved colours, placed onto the scale by lightness; unticked steps are derived by interpolation, so each scale is a complete, compliant set.
Usually a pack's tint scales derive from its Primary and Secondary brand colours; Moody's are hand-crafted. The primary step of each scale is outlined.

Derived

Light-mode surfaces, an even navy-tinted ramp from White to Moody's Blue 04. White carries content cards; the ramp steps evenly to Moody's Blue 04 for the strongest border, passing through a Moody's Blue 02 canvas.

Notes

Light is an even navy tint ramp, White → Moody's Blue 04 (0/25/50/75/100%); the 50% step lands on ~Moody's Blue 02 as the canvas. Dark is neutral from the Gray Family: 12 · 10 · 08 · 06 · 04.
Dark mode can be navy-tinted to match (Moody's Blue 11/12) if wanted.

Token

Mode-specific text, link and icon colours. Moody's uses Black for body copy on light; the link role binds to Accent (Bright Blue), with a lighter Bright Blue for dark mode.

Notes

Approved, not tokens. Additional Colours appear as approved options in colour pickers, separate from the canonical WDS tokens.
Tertiary / data-visualisation colours are used sparingly, only where a chart or diagram needs an array of colours for differentiation.
Carried in the pack JSON under colour.additional_colours. The Moody's Blue / Bright Blue / Grey families are carried as the named Tint scales.

Working colour reference for the Moody's skin. Values from the Masterbrand Guidelines for design iteration; tints pending the prescribed set. Once locked they move to the Notion Colour Registry and this page mirrors it.
